Deleted Scene from Hunting Death

When I first started writing, the title of the book was called Seducing Death. As I continued to build my outline, however, I realized that there was so much that needed to go into this story and I just didn't have room for it all.

So I decided I had no choice but to make this a series, and Seducing Death became the final act. And so The Immortals were born.

This is a four-book series centering around the lives of two individuals who are from completely different worlds.

Like every good love story, there's plenty of drama, heartache, and of course, hot hookups.

I'll be sure to officially introduce everyone to the inner workings of my series, one blog and one book at a time, starting with my cast of characters and basic plot points here but if you're also interested in a peek at some of the themes and concepts of the series as a whole, be sure to check out this blog that jumps into all of that.

While writing the first book of the series, there were several key things that needed to be part of the storyline, and then there was the scene you're about to read. It isn't integral to the plot of the story, it was just fun. I love writing hot, passionate, scenes, and this one took me out of my comfort zone per say.

I usually write female-driven love scenes, though I have on occasion catered to a male audience, in this scene, it's a little of both, and maybe more. This is a first for me in many ways. A threesome. Vampires. Blood. And a transformation.

Why isn't this part of the book you might ask? Unfortunately, during the course of this book, there just wasn't enough room for everything. I've done several revisions already, and taken out a lot, that, while entertaining, wasn't central to the plot. This was one of those things. In addition to being virtually unnecessary in terms of plot, there wasn't enough room in the storyline to properly develop this particular scene.

The timeline jumps too quickly and adding anything in between would just be out of place as well as a filler.

I hope you'll enjoy this scene and that you'll be encouraged to order the first book of The Immortals series. Hunting Death.

Sean was tucking his shirttail into the waist of his jeans when he heard the knock on the door.

Right on time. He thought to himself.

He and Cybil had just finished their little afternoon tryst, it started in the bedroom with Cybil needing to let off a little steam, and ended in the shower where she was free to make as much of a mess as she wanted to.

Holding Cybil up against the shower wall and pounding himself into her was one of Sean's favorite positions. Cybil liked the pain, the bite of his nails in the soft flesh of her hips, the trickle of blood down her thighs. She really got off on that.

And Sean didn't mind the tracks she raked down his back, he found over time, that he rather enjoyed it as well. However, he'd never gone so far as to bite himself during sex as Cybil often did. He liked the violent taste of her blood, the heady scent of lust that coursed through her veins, but it seemed a little too dramatic to him.

And messy. Sean hated the mess.

Strange, that a vampire, an immortal being obsessed with blood, could have an aversion like his, some would call it OCD, Sean, he just called it a waste. He loved the smell of blood, the metallic taste of it, but it was a real bitch trying to get it out of his clothes or those satin sheets Cybil liked so much. He'd rather avoid the mess altogether and drink every last drop of it instead.

And speaking of having a drink. He said to himself as he opened the door and smiled at the leggy blonde on the other side.

"Come on in," He said with a smirk while he looked her up and down.

Lee, who had just come from work, looked stunning as always. Actually, it was her looks that Sean liked most about her, she didn't have much of a personality otherwise, and the fact that Cybil felt threatened by her was definitely an added bonus.

Cybil was like the popular girl in high school. The hot cheerleader whose ass everyone kissed. And Lee the was the shy quiet girl everyone ignored, the one that blossomed into a beautiful butterfly after graduation, and made you question why you hadn't seen it before.

One oozed sexuality, and the other lacked the confidence to see the power she could wield. Lee's latent abilities made Cybil jealous, which, in turn, made their sexual encounters even better when he'd mentioned spending time with her.

Oh yes, Sean was really looking forward to tonight.

Lee smiled, those big brown eyes of hers going all soft and doe-like as she batted her lashes and headed into the living room with him.

"I'm so glad you texted me, Sean," she said sweetly, taking a seat on the sofa.

"Is that right?"

"I have so much to..." She nodded, trailing off when her eyes wandered towards the hall.

Sean turned, his grin widening. Cybil leaned against the doorframe to the bedroom, her wet hair pulled back, and her robe tied loosely around her body.

"Oh, don't let me stop you." Cybil insisted, stepping away from the door and heading in their direction. "By all means, continue."

Lee was visibly shaken, nervous even. Cybil and Lee had met a couple of times in the last few months, and Lee was more than aware of the dynamic between Cybil and Sean, but the fantasy of it all seemed to appeal to her more than her own good sense.

That didn't mean she was comfortable around Cybil though, and she usually insisted that she only met with Sean when she had information to pass along. She'd been to the apartment twice, but both times, Cybil had been out.

"I uh, I wasn't expecting to see you here."

Cybil sat down next to Sean, laying a hand on his leg. "Oh?" She asked tartly, though Sean could sense the bite in her tone. "I do live here you know."

"Right, right." Lee laughed nervously. "Of course you do. I only meant that I haven't seen you very much, and Sean says you're almost never home."

"Mmm."

"N-not that that's a problem." Lee continued to backtrack, trying not to stuff her foot any further into her mouth. "I'm sorry, maybe I should just go."

Though he smiled, Cybil finally caught wind of the anger emanating from Sean, she sighed and squeezed his leg as a sign of understanding.

Giving Lee one of those awkward mean-girl smiles meant to set someone at ease while they secretly shot invisible daggers at you, Cybil finally turned on the charm and tapped into one of her more persuasive personas.

"There's no need for you to leave, I'm not going to bite you." Cybil laughed in that seductive accent of hers. "At least not yet."

Lee gulped, but Sean could see the tension in her body begin to ease. And he could feel the waves of Cybil's emotions in the air. It was a calming sensation, one designed to lull you into thinking the danger you saw glittering in her eyes was just a trick of the light. And it worked.

Lee's shoulders slumped a little, she got comfortable on the couch, crossing her legs as she sat back.

Those legs. Sean's eyes traveled the length of those legs. Lee was wearing shorts today, they stopped at about mid-thigh exposing miles of smooth creamy skin the color of light mocha, the sun was good to Lee, very good.

Choking when he sensed the quick change in Cybil's mood, whose gaze suddenly bore down on him, Sean took her hand in his and laced their fingers together. He hoped it gave her the security she was obviously lacking.

"So, Lee." He said, clearing his throat. "What was it that you wanted to tell me, I mean, us." He managed, Cybil's grip tightening until he finally tore his eyes away from her legs.

Lee seemed to light up again, the way she had when she'd first walked in the door, and now that the tension in the room had passed, she was eager to spill her guts, a thought that had Sean licking his lips unconsciously.

For the next few minutes, Lee excitedly filled them in on what she knew about the case involving Keith, some of which they already knew, including the latest findings from the animal pathologist. She hadn't stuck around to find out what had happened more recently, but she promised she'd tell them as soon as she knew.

Cybil, however, bored by her lack of knowledge, had other ideas.

Still broadcasting a serene and calming aura, Cybil crossed to the loveseat where Lee sat, taking the girls hands in her own.

"Do you still fantasize about what it would be like to be, you know, like us?" She asked seductively.

Lee swallowed and nodded.

Cybil cast a mischievous smile in Sean's direction, standing, and pulling Lee along with her. "No time like the present, eh?"

Lee gulped again, she appeared a little more hesitant as she stood and allowed herself to be led towards the hall. "N-now?"

Though Sean stayed on the couch, he turned, following their every movement, every muscle in his body coiled tightly and ready to spring into action.

"Yes, now. You do still want this, don't you?"

"Y-yes." Lee stammered.

Cybil traced a finger along the length of Lee's neck, slipping under the collar of her shirt and skimming the tops of her breasts, which heaved with each unsteady breath she took.

"Brilliant. Although," she said with a nod in Sean's direction. "I thought we'd have a little fun first."

With Cybil's fingertips dipping lower into her shirt front, Lee gasped and turned her head while Sean quickly came up behind her, his breath warm on her neck.

"But I'm not..." She protested breathlessly.

Cybil placed her finger against Lee's lips, taking a step closer and forcing Lee against the length of Sean's hard torso behind her. "You will be," Cybil whispered as she took a step backward loosening the belt of her robe on her way into the bedroom.

Sean coaxed her forward with his body, and though she wanted to resist, a part of her fearing she'd made a grave mistake in trusting either of them, Lee took one hesitant step after another, her eyes wide as she focused on Cybil in front of her.

They led her to the bed, Sean's hands coming around her body, his fingers deftly removing her shirt, one button at a time. Cybil watched with pleasure, a wide grin on her face while she toyed with the front of her robe.

Sean's lips found the side of Lee's neck, he pushed the shirt off her shoulders one at a time, kissing the exposed skin. She shivered. His tongue caressed the throbbing artery that pulsed to the beat of her wild heart. Like a thousand hooves thundering across the prairie, the blood pounded in her brain.

Lee was starting to lose focus, she felt a desire and longing unlike one she'd ever known before. Her head was swamped with passion and pleasure. Managing even a single thought of her own was more effort than she currently possessed the strength for.

She let all of the emotions slide over her like a wave, pulling her away from the shore, away from safety. She was drowning in the sensations, and in that moment, she didn't care if she ever took another breath again.

Sean's mouth teased and punished, he licked and sucked on her ears, he nipped gently along the line of her collarbone, his hands all the while undressing her. Cybil watched at first, a hand slipping inside her robe as she touched herself.

Cybil waited until all of Lee was bared to her, then braced Lee back up against Sean, who continued to evoke passion, his mouth greedily seeking every inch of her neck and shoulders. And finally, Cybil's hands sought her body.

She cupped one breast, enjoying the feel of it, the weight in her hands, she moaned, leaning forward to taste the taut nipple she rubbed between her fingers. Lee gasped, her torso arching forward while her backside was cradled by Sean's arousal behind her.

Sean pressed himself closer, nestling himself between her glutes, his hands sliding down her body and delving into the hollow within her thighs. He kissed her harder, his lips bruising her, his teeth scraping the soft flesh along her jawline.

Feasting on one breast and then the other, Cybil continued to knead them as her mouth sought Lee's, capturing her lips and rendering her defenseless. She could no longer discern one sensation from another as Cybil's tongue was thrust into her mouth and twisted tightly around her own.

Her vision blurred, so she closed her eyes, leaning into Sean, depending on his strength as they wrought havoc on her naked flesh. Each kiss, each touch, brought her closer to insanity, and she found herself welcoming it like an old friend.

Somewhere in the midst of the attack, Lee felt herself sink onto the bed, Cybil following her down as Sean stood by and watched, his fingers slow to release the buttons on own his shirt. His eyes wide as he took in the sight of them.

Her hands unsteady, her brain unsure, Lee reached out and disrobed Cybil, the slight heat of her flesh searing her own body as her breasts pressed into her, one leg parting hers, a strong thigh rubbing smoothly against her pulsating womanhood.

Cybil kissed her deeply, passionately, the way no man ever had. She'd been curious once, had wondered what it might have felt like to be with a woman, and she'd fantasized of course, about being with Sean, being with a vampire. But this, there was just no way she could have anticipated this.

Like every nerve ending was on fire, passion burned within her, flames licking at her with each flick of Cybil's tongue. Cybil moaned and purred into her mouth, her hands grasping and stroking. But where was Sean?

Lee opened her eyes only to find him gone, she couldn't see much beyond Cybil's head as her mouth glided down the column of her neck and across her collarbone in search of the breasts she'd earlier abandoned. But as Cybil continued lower, licking and sucking along her shivering torso, Lee finally found him.

Sean kneeled on the floor at the foot of the bed, his arms entwined around Cybil's thighs, his face buried in the valley between them. Cybil's body seemed to rock and roll to the rhythm of his mouth, with each thrust of his tongue, she seemed to electrify. One hand dug into the bedsheets, the other squeezing one tender globe and then the other, she was all over Lee. Her mouth was here and then it was there.

And finally, she reached the delta below. Lee arched her body into Cybil's mouth, she gave herself over to the fever raging within. Rational thought went out the window the moment Cybil's tongue began to surround her, pulling her into the expanse of her mouth. The heat of her breath penetrating her, her blood beginning to boil.

On the verge of exploding like a brick of dynamite, Lee inhaled sharply when Cybil sank her teeth into the delicate skin of her inner thigh. Her upper body lurched forward and collapsed back in sheer ecstasy as Cybil began to drain her slowly.

Sounds came out of her mouth that she'd never heard before, her ears rang with them, her head buzzed. Her body convulsed, shattering under the force of her orgasm.

As the feelings refused to subside, the orgasm washing over her again and again, eroding at her like the waves to the shoreline, she found herself beneath Sean, and she could taste Cybil on his lips. It only served to make her want more.

Cybil lay nearby and watching, stroking herself as Sean took over, sliding into Lee's body, thrusting wildly. Lee arched into him, her nails raking his back, her mouth subdued by his. Sean's tongue invading and conquering, his shaft piercing her to the hilt, she consumed him.

And yet, she wanted more.

She pulled him closer, wrapping herself, and her legs around him, forcing him as far as he could go, urging him to go faster. Ripping her mouth from his, she turned to watch Cybil watching them. Her face and her chest were covered in blood, her blood, but Lee didn't care, she found all of it to be so erotic. She was so turned on she thought she might erupt into flames at any minute.

Sean waited, he brought her to the brink, he pushed her over, and then the fire broke out around them, inside of them, his fangs dipping into her neck, as his body trembled and emptied inside of her. Cybil stroked herself faster, blood began to pool around Lee's neck and head, dripping down the side of the bed, she reached out, running her fingers through it, smearing the blood across her lips as she came, as they came. The three of them, simultaneously.

Lee's whole body pulsed with electricity, she felt like a strung-out junkie looking for her next fix. It felt so good it almost hurt. There was a pain deep inside, a coldness creeping up her spine as Sean continued to suck on her neck. Draining her. He was draining her. Lee started to panic, she couldn't move.

The finger of death ran along her body, so cold. She suddenly felt so cold. She told him to stop, but even words failed her. Her breath escaped in a harsh sob as she parted her lips to scream, the pleasure was intense, too much, too strong. It hurt, it felt so good it hurt. Ecstasy, agony, Lee was having a hard time distinguishing between the two, and then all at once, her mind went blank.

Her eyes rolled back into her head and her body went limp. Blackness, cold, and dark, swallowed her whole.

"Careful Sean, we're not trying to kill her." Cybil chuckled, reaching for him.

Sean pulled back slowly, she'd tasted so sweet, her body had enveloped him so tightly, but she'd gone lax now as she lost consciousness. He slid from her welcoming sheath regretfully, wishing her body was still writhing around him. Oh, the soft sweet sounds she'd made with him inside her.

The panic she'd felt at that last moment as he'd nearly drained her dry, it was the sweetest taste of all.

"Sean?" Cybil cooed, sitting on the bed beside them, and running her fingers along the bloody torso. "Would you like to do the honors?"

He cocked his head, his gaze questioning. "You mean...?"

She nodded.

Sean burst into a wicked smile, biting into his own wrist and letting the blood drip into Lee's mouth as Cybil held it open.

In his seven years as a vampire, he hadn't turned anyone, Cybil had yet to let him. She didn't turn people on a whim, kill them, yes, but turn them? No. Cybil had told him long ago, before his own transformation, that she had some common sense when it came to that kind of thing.

He wondered then, what her plans were for Lee. Cybil did nothing without first thinking it through long and hard. She had confided once that she didn't turn anyone unless she could live with for the rest of her life. She said a vampire was ultimately responsible for their own creations, so what did that mean for Sean and Lee?

Was Cybil giving him a gift, or was it a curse?

Cybil grabbed her robe moments later and headed for the bathroom, leaving Sean to watch Lee as she transitioned.

After grabbing a couple of rags, Sean cleaned the blood splattered over her naked body and moved her into a chair by the window to strip the bed, then he headed for the spare bathroom and took a quick shower himself.

When he came back, he found the apartment empty but for the half-dead woman still collapsed in the chair in the bedroom. Cybil had left them, curious, he called her cell, but it went straight to voicemail. While a small part of him was concerned and wondered what Cybil was up to, Sean couldn't help but be curious about Lee's transitioning.

He knew what it felt like to transition, but what did it look like?

Sean moved Lee back to the now bare mattress and wrapped a robe around her, then he sat down and watched her body battle the virus as it consumed her.

Her skin seemed to twitch and jerk. Her pulse vibrated, and her heart rate slowed. He could see her eyes jumping beneath the lids, back and forth they fluttered. Her whole body trembled. He touched her, running a finger along her face, she shivered. The heat fled from her skin, that rosy hue in her cheeks paling rapidly before his eyes.

It was fascinating.

She took a sudden breath, a loud, sharp, gasp that startled Sean as she bolted upright, her eyes wide, bloodshot.

"What the hell happened?"
